A fully-functioning late 18th century English bracket clock by Joshua Trewinnard of London. The moon phase dial was useful in the past for both farmers who would schedule the planting of certain crops in relation to the phase of the moon, and to travelers who would benefit from making nighttime journeys during the full moon so they would be able to see their way more easily.
